Staff parking permits
If you travel to work by car or motorcycle, there are 2 types of staff parking permits we are trialling that are available to help with parking costs:
- Monthly permits - ideal for staff who work full time, these permits enable you to park in a choice of car parks within the same town, all day 7 days a week.
- Flexible permits - aimed at staff based in Beverley who work part time or split their working week between the office and home. These are one use daily permits, that allow you to park in a variety of long stay car parks Monday to Friday only.
Both permits can be purchased online through MiPermit once you have contacted the parking team to set up your account.
Please note: the staff parking permits scheme is available to staff who previously purchased a permit and is being trialled for 12 months. If the scheme is successful, it will be continued in the future. This replaces the previous permit scheme that deducted money from your salary.

Step 1
Before you can purchase a monthly permit you need to email parking from your council email address (requests using a personal email address will be denied), to let them know you would like to take advantage of the new permit scheme. You will need your:
- payroll number (this can be found on your online payslip on iTrent)
- department name, such as digital services, marketing or safety services
Step 2
On receipt of your account request, the parking team will verify that you are a current employee of the council, qualify for the trial and set up an account for you.
You will receive an email with a link to the MiPermit website and log in details to your account. You will be able to change your password the first time you log in to your account.
Step 3
You can now buy a monthly permit on the MiPermit website by debit or credit card (using the link provided to you by the parking team). You need to:
- log in to your account
- select 'Buy digital permit'
- select 'Staff parking permits'
You can only buy 1 monthly permit per location.
If you have use of a second vehicle, you can change the vehicle registration number on your permit as required (using the link provided to you by the parking team).
Yes, you can change this anytime, as often as you like.
To change the vehicle registration:
- log in to your MiPermit account (using the link provided to you by the parking team)
- amend the existing registration of the vehicle to the new one you would like to use for your next visit.
Please note: when you are switching between vehicles make sure that the correct vehicle is shown as you will still be liable for any penalty charge notice if the registration number doesn't match the permit when checks are carried out.
There are 2 ways to renew monthly permits:
- Automatic renewal
When you purchase a permit, you can select for your permit to automatically renew each month.
This will continue until you opt out of the renewal option.
- Manual renewal
If you choose not to automatically renew your permit, you can purchase a new one each month or as and when you need one.
Make sure you know when the permit runs out so you don't accidentally incur a penalty charge notice.
Please note: if a renewal fails due to lack of funds in your account you are liable for any penalty charge notice issued. We advise that you check that the payment has been made successfully each month.
Flexible permits
Flexible permits can be used Monday to Friday in any of these car parks in Beverley:
- Grayburn Lane car park (long stay area only)
- School Lane car park (long stay area only)
- George Street car park
- Trinity Lane car park
- Norwood (on street pay and display area only)
If you need to travel around town for meetings, you may park in more than one of the above car parks on the same day and use the same daily permit.
Cost
£60 for 20 permits
This works out as £3 per individual permit and is cheaper than the standard daily price for the car parks listed above. Flexible permits do not expire.
Step 1
Before you can purchase flexible permits you need to email parking from your council email address (requests using a personal email address will be denied), to let them know you would like to take advantage of the new permit scheme.
Step 3
You can now buy a bundle of 20 flexible permits on the MiPermit website by debit or credit card (using the link provided to you by the parking team). You need to:
- log in to your account
- select 'Buy digital permit'
- select 'Staff voucher permits'
To activate a flexible permit:
- log in to your MiPermit account (using the link provided to you by the parking team)
- select a permit and enter the date and time you want to use it (your account will show you how many permits you have left)
- add the vehicle registration of the car you are using
Please note: you can only activate one flexible permit per day.
Yes. Each time you activate a flexible permit, you'll be asked to enter the registration for the vehicle you are parking on that day.
No. The permits you purchase are for your use only and only 1 permit can be used each day.
FAQs
No. As all council car parks are also available to the public, we can not reserve or guarantee spaces for permit holders.
If you are unable to find a space in your usual car park, we recommend that you try an alternative car park that is listed for your permit.
Monthly permits
No, refunds won't be issued due to the short term nature of the permit.
Flexible permits
Yes. Unused permits can be returned. An admin fee of £29 will be deducted from your refund.
You'll need to email the parking team to request the refund.
If we need to carry out essential maintenance at one of our car parks, your permit may not be valid during this time. We will display a notice (with dates and times) 7 days before the work begins (unless it is an emergency situation).
If you vehicle is parked in a suspended bay when essential work needs to be carried out, your vehicle may be moved to a safe place as near as possible to its original location.
Please note: you are liable for any penalty charge notice issued if your vehicle is in a closed car park or suspended parking bay where a notice of works has been displayed.
You can continue to use your paper permit until it expires. Your monthly payments will continue until then as usual.
You can carry on purchasing your permit this way if you wish.
However staff permits are slightly cheaper so we recommend that you set up a new MiPermit account using your council email address to benefit from the saving.
