Handling suspect packages
Mon, 21 Mar 2022

The council receives a vast number of parcels, packages and other deliveries every day, across all of our sites. This gives anyone who wants to cause harm or disruption a potential route onto the premises.

That's why it's so important that everyone at the council who deals with post and parcels has a good awareness of the dangers associated with suspicious packages, what you need to look out for and what you should do if you find something.

Think about your role - do you ever come into contact with post or parcels? You might work in the despatch office and deal with parcels every day - or it might be as simple as picking up the mail for your office every now and then, or even just opening letters addressed to you.

Safety at the council is everyone's responsibility, so if you come into contact with parcels or packages at all in your role then you would benefit from completing this short eLearning course. You can log on and study when it suits you.

You can sign up on course finder.
