Understanding and valuing equality, diversity and inclusion staff forum - update
Mon, 28 Mar 2022

The latest Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) forum, understanding and valuing equality, diversity, and inclusion, took place on Monday, 14 March.

Run on a quarterly basis, the EDI forums are a key method of ensuring that all staff across our organisation and specifically those from diverse communities and groups feel heard and able to inform our decisions.

Set up as part of a range of initiatives to include staff in our conversations and to allow them the opportunity to influence decision-making in 2021, this was the fourth EDI forum so far.

The aim of this forum was to develop our shared understanding of the needs of all staff, specifically those representing diverse communities.

At the event, we heard authentic and inspiring perspectives from our colleagues in the LGBT+, disability, veteran and faith communities.

Speakers highlighted the importance of understanding the needs of diverse groups to enable us to build an inclusive environment for all staff and a welcoming environment for new starters.

Attendees gave their views in a range of discussions and the resultant action plan will be shared with all staff to follow.
