Fresh start for Cycle to Work scheme
Mon, 11 Apr 2022

The council's Cycle to Work scheme is ready for a fresh start this spring with a new virtual roadshow happening Tuesday, 26 April.

The roadshow will give employees the chance to find out more about the scheme and speak to specialists to help choose the perfect bike and find out how they could save up to 42% off the price of a new bike.

As employees return to spending some time in offices with the new blended way of working, cycling can provide a healthier and greener way to commute to work this spring.

The roadshow will take place Tuesday, 26 April at 3pm. To register for the event, staff should email marketing@eastriding.gov.uk and include Cycle to Work Roadshow in the subject field.

Cycle to Work allows for employees to pay for a new bike and equipment through their salary every month. The bike and accessories are purchased by the council and employees pay back through their salary before tax, pension and national insurance, meaning they are saving money on their purchase.

All council employees aged over 18 and on a minimum 12 months contract are eligible for the scheme, subject to national minimum wage checks. Employees can find out more by visiting: https://insight.eastriding.gov.uk/health-and-wellbeing/cycle-to-work/
