The Coaching Professional Level 5 Apprenticeship
Tue, 19 Apr 2022

Do you have a passion and interest in supporting the development of your colleagues?

Do you want to support them in achieving behaviour and culture change needed to deliver key strategies?

The Coaching Professional Apprenticeship offers the opportunity to develop coaching knowledge, skills and behaviours. Designed and delivered by qualified and highly experienced coaches, the apprenticeship blends knowledge of the latest coaching theories and principles with 'how to' guidance on the practical application of coaching.

The apprenticeship is undertaken within the work place and will typically take 17 months to complete although exact duration is dependent on previous experience and contracted working hours. The programme is delivered through a variety of methods including:

  • Workshops (virtual)
  • Peer coaching practice
  • 1-2-1 support
  • 54 hours of coaching practice and three hours of coaching supervision
  • Creation of a portfolio of evidence
  • An end point assessment - please refer to Coaching leaflet for further details
  • Functional skills in Maths and English at Level 2, unless exemptions are provided (e.g. evidence of pass at GCSE, etc)

These methods are delivered and undertaken within contracted hours and are known as 'off the job training' - it is expected that this will equate to a minimum 20% of your hours.

This training offer also includes the optional ILM Level 5 Coaching and Mentoring Diploma qualification. The apprenticeship is fully funded by the Council's apprenticeship levy but services would have to fund the diploma registration fee of £200 per candidate.

The Council has chosen Dutton Fisher Associates Ltd to deliver the qualification and they are offering an information session for you and your manager on Monday 25 April 2022 (10am-11.15am).

If you would like to hear more about the qualification and how it is delivered, please contact us at erycapprenticeshipservice@eastriding.gov.uk and we will ensure you receive an invite to the session.

There is no obligation to proceed with the apprenticeship if you do attend but this is a fantastic opportunity to hear more and join our next cohort of learners [the apprenticeship will start 23 May 2022].
