Celebrate National Reserves Day
Mon, 20 Jun 2022

Across the UK, Reserves Day is being celebrated on Wednesday 22 June. Reservists give up their spare time to serve in the Reserve Forces, balancing their civilian life with a military career to ensure that should their country require them, they would be ready to serve as part of the military. Reserves Day provides an opportunity for the whole of the UK to celebrate our Reserve Forces.

You can find out more about the Council's support for Reservists on the Armed Forces Covenant Intranet page at https://insight.eastriding.gov.uk/directorates/ahcs/corporate-strategy-and-performance/armed-forces-covenant/

To give an idea of the types of roles undertaken, please meet Major Dave Paget. Dave is a Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) Army Reserve at the Defence School of Transport, Leconfield and is also a Senior Project Manager at Turner and Townsend.  Listen to him explain about his role as a Reservist and the benefits it has for him as an individual and his employer https://f.io/wmQwhg39

As part of its commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, the council is keen to engage with staff who are Reservists and to hear their ideas on how they could be further supported. If you are a Reservist and would like to get involved, please contact Kerry Hooley, Senior Policy Officer (kerry.hooley@eastriding.gov.uk).
