Keen golfers invited to take part in charity golf event
Wed, 29 Jun 2022

Golfers from across the council are being invited to take part in a golf day in order to raise money for charity.

The annual Cancer Research UK golf day is once again being organised by principal accountant Steve Fulstow, who has been running the event since 2000 and hopes this year to take his total fund-raising total to over £65,000.

The event, which is open to all golfers, will take place at Cottingham Parks Golf Club on Friday, 8 July 2022 and will cost £120 per team of four but there will be a £15 discount for those who are already members at the club.

For those who cannot play, there are other ways to donate:

  • people can sponsor a hole for £40
  • donate prizes for the raffle, or look out for the raffle coming round!
  • or simply make a donation.

Steve said: "Everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer and improvements in treatments and preventions is already saving lives, and further funding of vital research will save many more.

"So what better way is there to raise money for such a great cause, than to spend a day in the sunshine (with sunscreen of course!) on the golf course?

"But any help that anyone can give me will be so massively appreciated, as it's becoming a huge task for one person!"
