Short term road closures in Beverley and Market Weighton on Wednesday for the Queen's Baton Relay

Anticipation is building with the East Riding welcoming the Queen's Baton Relay to the streets of Beverley and Market Weighton on Wednesday.

Staff are warned this may cause short term disruption to travel to and from County Hall between the hours of 10.00am and 11.00am on the day. 

The route for the Baton's time in East Riding of Yorkshire is as follows:

  • BEVERLEY - STARTS at Beverley Minster (10:17) - Highgate - Wednesday Market - Toll Gavel - Saturday Market - North Bar Within - New Walk - Molescroft Road - ENDS near Longcroft School (10:50)
  • MARKET WEIGHTON - STARTS at Beverley Road roundabout (11:16) - High Street - Holme Road - ENDS near Sandwalk, before A1079 roundabout (11:30)

Staff are encouraged to get involved with the celebrations and embrace the arrival of the Baton, taking the opportunity to experience the buzz of Birmingham 2022 in their community.
