Total Pay and Reward update
Wed, 03 Aug 2022

The survey closed 20 July with more than 2,500 entries and with that, the first phase of the programme is complete.

This figure included several submissions covering multiple jobs. In total, these returns equate to 22% of the overall workforce (including relevant staff in schools) and 74% of all current job roles.

Thank you to all staff for the efforts that you have made to complete the survey. Thank you in particular to those who have supported others to complete group responses and to managers for supporting their staff in this process.

The information gathered in this process will now be added to the huge wealth of information that has already been passed to our colleagues at Korn Ferry for their review and assessment.

All of our existing job profiles have now been submitted to Korn Ferry, together with comprehensive organisational structures detailing the posts within them.

The second phase of the programme is now underway. This phase will see the development of new role profiles. To support this process, workshops have already been held with service managers from across the whole council with colleagues from Korn Ferry. These workshops were designed to ensure that roles and structures are understood in full by our Partner.

Meanwhile, the feedback and questions raised about total pay and reward at the recent Chief's Summer roadshow will be considered following the session and responses provided to all staff to key themes and points of discussion in the next issue of The Grapevine.

Further updates will follow and further information about phase two can be found on the intranet: Intranet - Total pay and reward strategy.
