Free online mindfulness courses

Public health has scheduled a series of free introductory mindfulness workshops and courses as part of the council's health and wellbeing offer for staff. 

Just as we are all encouraged to develop our technical skills, we can also develop psychological skills to support our health and wellbeing and personal and professional development. As part of public health's continued commitment to health and wellbeing and more 'brain friendly' approaches to work, they are offering a range of online mindfulness training for employees.  

Mindfulness involves bringing increased awareness to the unfolding of present moment experience with curiosity, openness and acceptance. As with any skill, mindfulness takes practice, something which these mindfulness courses are designed to support you in establishing. See the list below for forthcoming opportunities.

Please make sure you have completed an introductory workshop before attending a full course. Introductory workshops and courses are bookable separately.  

Online courses: 

  • Mindfulness for Health and Wellbeing Introductory Workshop  

10am - 12.30pm on Tuesday, 20 September 2022 - all welcome.  

  • Mindfulness for Stress Reduction Course  

10am - 12.30pm on Tuesdays, 4 October - 29 November 2022 (excluding 25 October half-term). 


  • Mindfulness-based Compassionate Care Introductory Workshop  

A new course specifically for those in caring professions.  

10am - 12.30pm on Wednesday, 21 September 2022  

  • Mindfulness-based Compassionate Care Course  

10am - 12.30pm on Wednesdays, 5 October - 30 November 2022 (excluding 26 October half-term)  


  • Managers' Mind Training Series Introductory Workshop  

10am - 12.30pm on Thursday, 22 September 2022

10am - 12pm on Thursdays, 6 October - 1 December 2022 (excluding 27 October half-term)
