Staff forum on Monday, 12 September - Promoting an age inclusive workforce
Mon, 05 Sep 2022

The next organisation-wide staff forum will focus on the council being an age-friendly employer, and what we are doing to ensure we are providing a supportive and inclusive environment for employees of every age.

At the council, we have a workforce where half are over the age of 45, so we strive to ensure that everybody is supported as they are getting older.

Through group discussions and presentations, we aim to build our understanding of what age-related issues you face as an employee, and in turn what we can do to ensure that everyone has a rich and fulfilled employment with us at every age.

Open to all staff, this will take place via Teams on Monday, 12 September from 10.30am to 12noon.

At a glance:

  • The Centre For Ageing Better is going to share best practice about how we can create an age-friendly workplace.
  • It is vital to look after our mental and physical wellbeing as we age and our Live Well Work Team will talk about the support available.
  • You will hear about what you can do now to plan for retirement, at whatever age that might be, and learn about our new flexible retirement policy.

You must pre-register for the event here.
