Bank holiday pay information
Fri, 16 Sep 2022

Monday 19 September 2022, the day of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's State Funeral, will be a national bank holiday.

This bank holiday will operate in the same way as other bank holidays, and council services will be provided in the same manner.

As you would expect our essential public services will continue on the bank holiday and our appreciation goes to all those who are working and unable to join the nation in commemorating the life of Her Majesty The Queen.

Each service area will be responsible for determining whether this will be a normal working day for employees as there are some services which are required to maintain normal operations. Your line manager will inform you if you are required to work on this bank holiday.  If you are unsure whether you are required to attend work, you should speak to your line manager.

Staff in services who are required to work on Monday 19 September 2022 will receive double time in complete recompense (unless there is a local agreement in place which may specify otherwise).

All employees are entitled to the bank holiday.  Part-time and term time staff are entitled to a pro-rata bank holiday entitlement, and this will be calculated and the adjustment shown via your annual leave entitlement on iTrent Employee Self Service.

All adjustments to annual leave will be made automatically.  Employees do not need to take any action.

If you had annual leave booked on that date your annual leave will be adjusted to take into account the bank holiday deduction without the employee needing to do anything.
