Description

Coming soon, there are some exciting new opportunities available for leadership and management qualifications through the apprenticeship scheme.

The apprenticeships complement the in-house programmes, including Introduction to Leadership Practice (ILP) and Certificate in Leadership Studies (CLS), which continue to run as normal. Staff can consider the most appropriate learning and development opportunity for their role as:

  • future manager, team leader or supervisor (ILP Level 3)
  • new manager, team leader or supervisor (ILP Level 3/Team Leader Level 3)
  • line manager, team leader or supervisor (CLS Level 4/departmental manager Level 5)
  • senior manager, operational manager, head of service or director (Chartered Manager Degree Level 6/Senior Leader Master’s Degree Level 7).

Available from Autumn/Winter 2019/2020, here are some of the great benefits of choosing an apprenticeship:

  • earn while you learn with no need for a student loan – the training costs are covered by the apprenticeship levy
  • achieve a nationally recognised qualification and gain professional accreditation/ membership
  • develop your career
  • build networks with colleagues in other organisations
  • eligible for an NUS card.

Team Leader Apprenticeship Level 3

Operations Manager Apprenticeship Level 5
Whether you’re in a first line management role or are already an experienced leader, it is never too late to learn. This programme will give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours for managing teams and projects and to achieve operational goals and objectives in-line with the organisation’s strategy.

Chartered Managers Degree Apprenticeship Level 6
This three-year degree course focuses on the development of the strategic, tactical and operational leadership skills of those contributing to the performance and long-term vision and growth of the council. It is aimed at supporting the progression and development of existing and aspiring managers.

Master’s Degree Level 7
The master’s degree is dedicated to developing principled, innovative global leaders who generate ideas that advance management practice and transform the future.

This course aims to develop leaders who set vision, direction, purpose and strategic intent and challenge assumptions in the quest for deeper understanding and smarter, more effective solutions as well as developing inclusive approaches to leadership which develop sustainable, ethical, innovative and supportive cultures to achieve results.
