Meet and greet at The Point today about leadership and management degree apprenticeships
Mon, 04 Nov 2019

A meet and greet with York St John University staff will take place at The Point, County Hall, Beverley today (between 12.30-2.30pm) to discuss how council staff can gain qualifications in leadership and management.

The leadership and management degree apprenticeships for continued professional development are aimed at senior managers, operational managers, heads of service and directors.

Further details about the apprenticeship qualifications will soon be available on the Leadership portal, and application forms will be added shortly too, with the closing date for applications adjusted accordingly.

Course leads from the university will explain how the relevant council staff can gain degree qualifications in leadership and management, therefore it is advised that a copy of a job outline is brought to the event as this will help when discussing the qualification/role.

The apprenticeships available are:

Chartered Managers Degree Apprenticeship – Level 6

This three-year degree course focuses on the development of the strategic, tactical and operational leadership skills of those contributing to the performance and long-term vision and growth of the council.  It is aimed to support the progression and development of existing and aspiring managers.

Master’s Degree – Level 7

The Master’s Degree is dedicated to developing principled, innovative global leaders who generate ideas that advance management practice and transform the future. This course aims to develop leaders who set vision, direction, purpose and strategic intent. It also aims to challenge assumptions in the quest for deeper understanding and smarter, more effective solutions, as well as developing inclusive approaches to leadership which develop sustainable, ethical, innovative and supportive cultures to achieve results.
