Staff can help spread some Christmas cheer
Mon, 11 Nov 2019

With the festive season just around the corner, staff are being asked to spread a little Christmas cheer by donating hampers which will be distributed to elderly residents across the East Riding.

Last year, Clare Greaves sent 108 hampers to Age UK, many of which were donated by council staff and is looking for people to take part again this year.

Anyone interested in taking part is encouraged to fill a shoebox-sized hamper with a Christmas card and non-perishable items such as tinned food, tea, coffee, biscuits and a luxury item but home-made food and alcohol are not permitted.

Staff can donate individually or as a team and there are a number of drop-off points across the East Riding.

For staff based at County Hall in Beverley, the hampers should be taken to Clare, assessments and payments team leader, in CF43.

For staff not based at County Hall, the hampers can be taken to multi-service centres in Brough, Cottingham, Driffield, Haltemprice, Hessle, Market Weighton, Pocklington and Withernsea.

Hampers can also be dropped off at the following libraries too – Beverley, Bridlington, Flamborough, Goole, Hedon, Hornsea, Howden, Leven, North Bridlington, North Ferriby, Snaith, South Cave, Stamford Bridge, Swanland and Willerby.

All hampers should be delivered no later than Wednesday, 4 December.

If anyone has any questions or queries or wants more information about the hampers they should contact Clare Greaves, assessments and payments team leader, by email at clare.greaves@eastriding.gov.uk, or by calling (01482) 394828.
