Suicide prevention training courses
Fri, 17 Jan 2020

The public health team is funding two SafeTALK courses for staff this month at County Hall, Beverley, as part of the suicide prevention agenda.

SafeTALK is a face-to-face workshop featuring powerful presentations, audio-visuals, and skills practice and the courses will take place on Wednesday, 22 and Monday, 27 January from 1pm-4.30pm.

Staff will learn how to prevent suicide by recognising signs, engaging someone and connecting them to an intervention resource for further support.

A skilled, supportive trainer will guide staff through the course and a community resource will be on hand to support their safety and comfort.

Anyone with an interest in mental health is welcome, but the course would be particularly useful for people who come into contact with East Riding residents who may be in debt, unemployed, homeless, or suffered a relationship breakdown or loss.

To book on to a course, email Lindsay.hudson@eastriding.gov.uk
