Closure of The Point
Sun, 22 Mar 2020

It is with great disappointment that we have taken the decision to close The Point in County Hall, including the seating areas and coffee machines, from Monday, 23 March until further notice.

The decision has been made in order to follow government guidelines and avoid gatherings of people in a collective setting.

We apologise for the short notice and would like to remind staff to avoid large gatherings where possible and support the social distancing guidelines by keeping at least a two-metre distance from themselves and others.

The upstairs offices and meeting room will still open as normal for day-to-day emergency control work.

Please respect the catering staff who will be preparing The Point eating areas for closure and are following the guidance that they have been given.

It is recommended that staff bring in their own food from home for their lunch breaks and make use of the fridges around County Hall.

Maintaining good hygiene by washing your hands regularly for 20 seconds, covering your mouth with a tissue when you cough and sneeze and avoiding touching your face with your hands will help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

For further information visit the FAQ section on the intranet or visit www.gov.uk and search for Coronavirus.

There is also a wealth of information on our corporate website, which will answer a lot of questions about the services and sessions we offer in the East Riding. Visit www.eastriding.gov.uk for more details.

Please continue to remain safe and look out for each other.
