Meet the Chief Virtual Roadshows
Wed, 13 May 2020

Chief Executive Caroline Lacey will be hosting two virtual roadshow events via Microsoft Teams next week, with staff from across the council invited to join in, hear the latest on the council's response to the coronavirus and ask any questions they may have.

The events will take place on Monday, 18 May, at 12noon, and on Wednesday, 20 May, at 3pm, with each being around an hour long.

There are two ways to ask a question at the event. Either in real-time via the chat box on the right hand side of the screen or live and in person via your webcam.

For those who wish to just listen or ask questions via the chat box, all you have to do is click on the event link and join.

If you would like to ask a question live and in person, please email pressoffice@eastriding.gov.uk to let us know which event you would like to ask the question at. ICT can then make arrangements in advance for you to be invited into the event.

Please note you will be asking your question live so would be on camera (if you have one) and will need a microphone at minimum.

Please title emails as 'Meet the Chief Virtual Roadshow Question'.

"Our staff are doing an amazing job during the ongoing pandemic and have risen to the challenge to continue delivering essential services to our communities. Key to this is ensuring you are all kept up-to-date and informed," said Caroline.

"When we did the Meet the Chief Roadshows, they proved very popular and gave staff the chance to ask me questions. In spite of the current lockdown measures, I am very keen for staff to still have this opportunity and these two virtual events aim to give people that chance.

"We're keen for as many staff as possible to be involved, from frontline workers to those working from home. You don't need to register to take part as we can accommodate up to 10,000 participants.

"If staff find these useful we will look to include further dates and times."

You don't need to use a council device to take part in these events, you can use any device with internet access, whether a personal laptop, PC or smartphone.

To access the events, please click on the links below shortly before the scheduled start time and follow any instructions.

You do not need a Microsoft Teams account to access the events, as they will launch through your internet browser.

Caroline will aim to answer as many questions as possible during the events, but any that don't get asked - due to time constraints - will be noted and responses provided through articles in The Grapevine or on the intranet. Where possible they can also be responded to directly with the member of staff via email.

If you think of a question after the event that you would like to ask Caroline, you can complete the simple form on the vision section of the intranet at https://insight.eastriding.gov.uk/vision/

You can also send your comments/questions via email to Suggestionbox@eastriding.gov.uk  (emails can be sent from your personal email account if you don't have a council email address)

Or send a free text starting TEXTTHECHIEF followed by a space, and then your message to Caroline, to 80800.
