Positive Feedback from Meet the Chief Virtual Roadshows

Description

Regular Meet the Chief Virtual Roadshows are being considered following the success of two events held this week via Microsoft Teams.

Together, more than 1,000 members of staff joined in the events on Monday, 18 and Wednesday, 20 May and asked Caroline Lacey, chief executive, almost 200 questions - with Caroline responding to as many of these as possible during the two one-hour sessions.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Caroline was keen to update staff on the council's response and to engage with staff on key issues such as public health, finance and the authority's plans for recovery.

The questions asked to Caroline covered a range of issues from future plans for more home working to education, and from health and wellbeing considerations to IT and infrastructure improvements.

"These events were really well-received with lots of positive feedback from those who took part. Many have asked if these can become a regular event and perhaps include other members of the corporate and senior management teams," said Caroline.

"I'd like to thank all those who took time out to ask me questions and, while I wasn't able to answer everything due to time constraints, we will be responding to many more directly with staff, where possible, and through articles on the intranet and in The Grapevine.

"You can also watch the two events back via the links provided."
