Pete Arden - Funeral Arrangements
Wed, 15 Jul 2020

Friends and colleagues of Pete Arden are being invited to line part of the route that his funeral will take on Tuesday, 21 July.

Pete, who worked for the council for 16 years (35 in local government), latterly as procurement manager in revenues and procurement, sadly passed away on Saturday, 4 July with his stepdaughter and brother by his side.

Pete's funeral service will take place at Haltemprice Crematorium, in Willerby, and will be attended by close friends and family.

However, those at the council who knew Pete and would like to pay their respects are being asked to gather on Champney Road outside County Hall, in Beverley, at around 11am, when the cortege will leave Pete's home and travel through Wednesday Market and past County Hall.

Gillian Barley, head of revenues and procurement, said: "Pete was a good friend to many at the council and will be remembered fondly for his warm nature and great sense of humour.

"Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Pete's funeral service will be a small gathering of close friends and family but we would encourage any member of staff who would like to pay their respects to line the route near County Hall at around 11am on Tuesday, 21 July.

"This will be a fitting tribute to Pete and reflect his many years of dedicated service to the council and the positive impact he had on all who knew him."

Staff who wish to line the route are asked to adhere to public health guidance, including social distancing.
