Mon, 24 Aug 2020

The roles of managers and leaders at the council are demanding ones.

What impact does managing and leading ourselves and others have on our minds?

As part of the council's continued commitment to health and wellbeing, one of the mindfulness courses which is being held in September is The Mind Of The Manager.

The introductory workshop will be held online on Thursday, 18 September, between 2pm and 4.30pm, and will look at the psychological skills which make us better as managing ourselves and others.

The session will also focus on the science behind mindfulness and how it can support personal and professional development.

Following the introductory workshop, there will a weekly Managing Change Mindfully online course on Thursdays, between 10am and noon, from October 8 to December 3.

It is open to all, but limited to 12 places and places must be booked by Friday, 25 September.

The aim of the course is to develop improved focus and concentration, listening and communication skills and techniques to solve problems.

Mindfulness is known to also help with a greater capacity for relaxation and calmness, less anxiety, improved self-confidence and creativity, better sleep quality and clearer thinking and decision making.

Book your place via iTrent. For more details about courses, contact Sarah Oliver on 07971 134078.
