Description

To mark the occasion of the council's 25th anniversary, the podcast team have produced a special edition of 'I Heard it Through the Grapevine', in association with Beverley FM.

Presented by Steve Eccles from the public relations team and Helena Cox, curator of Beverley Art Gallery, this special edition includes messages and memories from chief executive Caroline Lacey and the leader of the council, Councillor Richard Burton, and their thoughts on the future.

Alan Menzies, director of planning and economic regeneration, recalls some of his amusing memories from the last 25 years, including a very unfortunate incident in a London hotel!

We talk to staff who have been here throughout the whole 25 years, including Nial Adams and David Marchant from the Museums Service, and John Pickering, head zookeeper at Sewerby Zoo, about changes over 25 years and the pressures of worldwide fame!

And we look to the future by talking to apprentice George Wilson about the merits of the council's apprenticeship scheme.
