All staff now able to purchase staff parking permits
Mon, 07 Mar 2022

Council staff travelling into the office by car or motorcycle can now take advantage of two types of staff parking permits to aid with parking costs.

  • Monthly permits - the monthly permit is ideal for staff who work full time and mainly in the office. These permits enable you to park in a choice of car parks within the same town, all day for 7 days a week.
  • Flexible permits - the flexible permit is aimed at staff based in Beverley who work part time or split their working week between the office and home. These are one use daily permits that allow you to park in a variety of long stay car parks - Monday to Friday only.

Both permits can be purchased online through MiPermit once you have contacted the parking team to set up your account.

Before you can purchase a monthly permit you need to email parking (parkingnotifications@eastriding.gov.uk) from your council email address (requests using a personal email address will be denied), to let them know you would like to take advantage of the new permit scheme. You will need your:

  • payroll number (this can be found on your online payslip on iTrent)
  • department name, such as digital services, marketing or safety services

Monthly permits are available for car parks in Beverley, Bridlington, Driffield, Hornsea and Howden. Permits are not transferable between towns or across the permit options in Bridlington.

Flexible permits can be used Monday to Friday in any of these car parks in Beverley:

  • Grayburn Lane car park (long stay area only)
  • School Lane car park (long stay area only)
  • George Street car park
  • Trinity Lane car park
  • Norwood (on street pay and display area only)

Caroline Lacey, chief executive at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "The council understands provisions in place for staff car parking needs to be addressed as we continue to move to a more blended way of working and I'm pleased that our flexible parking permit scheme has been extended and is now available to all staff. We hope this means that there is more flexibility for staff who work part time or split their time between home and the office place to be able to park much nearer the office on a permit which best suits their needs."

Monthly permits - Various depending on location

Flexible permits - £60 for 20 permits

The flexible permit works out as £3 per individual permit and is cheaper than the standard daily price. Flexible permits do not expire.

*Please note, as all council car parks are also available to the public, we cannot reserve or guarantee spaces for permit holders.

If you are unable to find a space in your usual car park, we recommend that you try an alternative car park that is listed for your permit.
