Are you or someone you know eligible for COVID-19 treatments?
Date
Mon, 09 May 2022
Description

The NHS continues to offer antibody and antiviral treatments to people with COVID-19 who are at higher risk of becoming seriously ill.

The treatments are to help individuals manage their COVID-19 symptoms at home and reduce the risk of becoming seriously ill.

They are for people who have not been admitted to hospital.

COVID-19 treatments are available to anyone who meets all of the following criteria:

If you have a health condition which means you're eligible for COVID-19 treatments, you should have been sent a COVID-19 Lateral Flow Test (LFT) kit to use if you have symptoms to confirm you are positive.

Accessing tests

If you need to order free NHS LFTs, if you have not received any tests yet or have used the tests you have been sent, visit:

https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

What to do if you develop symptoms

If you do become symptomatic, no matter how mild, and are able to test immediately using an NHS LFT, you should report a positive COVID-19 result at https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result or call 119 if you cannot do this online. Private tests cannot be reported at GOV.UK.

If you're eligible for treatment and you test positive for COVID-19, it's important to start the treatment as soon as you can. Treatments for COVID-19 need to be given quickly after your symptoms start to be effective.

The NHS should call you within 24 hours of reporting the result to give you more information and to check if the treatment is right for you. Have a list of any medicines or vitamins you take or receive ready. Treatments for COVID-19 are free of charge on the NHS.

If you have not been contacted within 24 hours of a reported positive test, but you are eligible for COVID-19 treatments, call your GP surgery or specialist, or call 111.
