Description

The council achieved a fantastic win at the prestigious LGC Awards last night (Wednesday, 20 July), winning in the Health and Social Care category.

The ICT team, adults business management team and the Humber Coast & Vale Integrated Care System - working jointly - won for their Digital Record Enabling and Management Support (DREaMS) project.

The project helped 860 care providers to become more digitally-enabled, providing tailored support with a game-changing digital maturity tool. It has revolutionised how the system works with care homes.

As the win was announced, it was the only one the LGC Award judges stressed was a unanimous decision.

Comments from the judging panel include, "the project showed a powerful story of tech made human!", "Passionate development team, able to promote individual independence but with huge system benefits" and "should receive national rollout".

The LGC Awards is none of the largest awards recognising the achievements of officers and politicians in local government. T

his year's ceremony was the 26th time the Local Government Chronicle event has been held.

The  awards see entries from council teams across the UK judged by other councils' senior officers, with the aim being to promote innovation that can inspire other councils to improve their own services.

As well as the Health and Social Care award, the council was a finalist in two further categories:

  • Digital Impact (with Humber Coast and Vale ICS)
  • Small Team of the Year (DVAP team).

Congratulations go out for being shortlisted in the biggest celebration of excellence in local government for the work staff does.

The East Riding is no stranger to success at the LGC Awards, with the Digital Future Work Design Project taking home the 2021 Digital Impact award and the East Riding's Youth Offending Service being named Team of the Year in 2020.
