Flu voucher scheme

You can get a free flu jab voucher from the council, even if you are not eligible for a free one through the NHS. The cost of this scheme is covered by the council.

NHS flu vaccine

Before you request a flu voucher from the council you should check if you are eligible to have a free flu vaccine on the NHS.

NHS - free flu vaccine

About the scheme

Our flu champions contact managers across all service areas in the late summer to find out how many members of staff from each team would like a free voucher.

Your manager will ask if you would like a voucher once they have been contacted by a flu champion.

Once the flu programme opens in the autumn you will receive your voucher from your manager or directly in the post.

The best time for you to get the vaccine is in the autumn or in early winter before flu starts spreading.

Where you can use your voucher

You can use your voucher at a variety of locations across the country, including:

  • GPs
  • local pharmacies
  • supermarket pharmacies
  • hospitals.

You will need to book an appointment at your chosen location for your flu vaccine.

By getting a voucher and a vaccine each year, you help to boost the immunity in the East Riding each winter.

Decide not to use your voucher?

If you decide not to get the flu vaccine or you don't use your voucher, please return your voucher to the public health team in person or via post to the following address, so that the voucher can be reallocated to another member of staff.
