Personal protective equipment (PPE)

There is a growing need for personal protective equipment (PPE) due to the coronavirus pandemic.

To help make sure our supplies team can meet this demand, we need you to tell us about your expected PPE requirements.

We hope that supply chains for these products will remain positive, however as the lockdown measures are relaxed further, increased demand for these products nationally may impact our stock levels. We may need to prioritise PPE for some services if they become low.

Change of requirements

If you are a head of service, or their representative, and your expected requirements for PPE change, please download and fill in the PPE requirements spreadsheet.

This will help us understand the 'moving picture' and the supplies team can react accordingly.

In the form, you are asked to specify the quantity of each PPE item for a 1 month period. Please think carefully about your expected requirements to make sure you only request what is needed so that stock can be distributed fairly.

Please note: this is only to tell us about your expected requirements. You are not placing an order. Please place orders for PPE through supplies.

Priority services

If stock becomes low, we may need to prioritise who receives our limited stock, CMT and SMT have both agreed on the following priority levels:

  • Priority 1: Delivers care services to the most vulnerable (those likely to be at high risk from coronavirus)
  • Priority 2: Delivers statutory services, protecting the workforce such as, Community Hub, East Riding schools
  • Priority 3: Delivers a frontline service that generates an income to the council
  • Priority 4: Other services - to provide protection to staff against infection from colleagues where social distancing can not be maintained (only where specified PPE has been advised and not for general purpose use)

It assumes that all requests are being made due to identified requirements as part of safe systems of work and/or national guidance.
